Primary Program

Today Ashlee, Abriana and Dallin had parts in the Primary Sacrament meeting program.

Dallin Mack said, "I love my family."
Abriana Mae said, "I show my faith when I obey my parents."

Ashlee Joye gave a talk that she prepared herself. She said:

I was asked to talk about how our faith grows when we serve others. We can rake the leaves and wash dishes. These are ways we can serve others. In Mosiah 2:17 it says, "And behold I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom, that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are only in the service of your God. "

The song, I Am Trying to be Like Jesus, says "I am trying to be like Jesus. I am following in his ways; trying to love as he did in all that I do and say." At times I am tempted to make a wrong choice but I try to listen as the still small voice whispers, "Love one another as Jesus loves you. Ty to show kindness in all that you do. Be gentle and loving in deed and in thought, for these are the things that Jesus taught. "

Jesus Christ taught us to serve othes. He served others by helping. As I serve others I show my love for Him. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Last Trip to the Hospital

This was Leslie's last day to make the journey to room 405, University Hospital

The last family photo in room 405, no regrets

Ty was told that he would have to remain in the hopsital for two days after his chest tubes were removed. When an undetermined infection was detected in his blood the removal of the chest tubes was delayed. This morning, one hour after the chest tubes were finally removed the doctor came in and said, "Would you like to go home today?" What a pleasant surprise for the entire family. The boys will not be able to pray for daddy to come home soon now. But they will have other things that they can pray for and express gratitude for. Joshua looked up at me and said, "Does this mean we won 't be able to ride in the wheelchair anymore?"

Little Joseph enjoys playing in the leaves of Fall

Joshua trys to throw all the leaves back up into the trees where they came from.

Zachary plays but his tender thoughts linger with his dad in the hospital.
Leslie has been spending as much time as possible with Ty at the hospital. That has left the boys in the dubious care of their grandparents. The boys love playing outside and the beautiful Fall weather has been a blessing to help keep their minds off the upheavel they have felt with dad in the hospital. They get to go see him now that he is out of intensive care but the visits are far too short for their little hearts and minds.

Ty's Condition - Thursday, November 8th

Hello...

Ty and I would like to thank everyone for your love, concern, prayers and fasting. You are all a blessing in our lives! Ty has started another day without any food or water and can't watch TV because of all the capri sun comercials!! :) He was told it will be seven days before he can take anything by mouth and then they will do a swallow study to see if the esophagus is healed. If so, he will start on a liquid diet (does anyone have any recipes for a liquid Thanksgiving meal..? YUM!) If it has not healed, it will be another seven days after that before he can drink anything. There is still some disagreements between the doctors about how and when Ty should receive nutrition. Ty understood that he wasn't getting anything for seven days, but one doctor was concerned that he hadn't been started on the IV nutrition. My dad wanted to know what the doctors had for breakfast!!!!! We are hoping to receive some more information soon. We might need Dawna to come get everyone straightened out:) Ty should be moving out of the ICU soon; We are just waiting on a bed to become available. All things considered, Ty is doing well and is progressing quickly. He is still smiling! The boys are doing well too and are enjoying all the extra attention and rootbeer barrels.

Thank you again to each of you. We love and appreciate you,

Ty, Leslie, Zachary, Joshua and Joseph

Halloween Quiz

The winner of this quiz will receive a $100 gift card from Walmart. Sorry, no hints will be given and no announcement of a winner until next Sunday. Each of you knows someone besides me who knows the answer to each of these questions. Only one set of answers will count for each person. You can change your answers at any time but once you send in new answers the previous entry will become null and void. If you submit the correct answers and later change to a different set of answers, oh well, there goes your stroll down the isles of Walmart with your gift card from PGF (Planet Grubbs Fund).

Good Luck

I thought we should start with something easy to lull some of you into complacency.
Who is Leslie dressed as in her Halloween costume?
801-294-5077
I have never known her to tell a lie.

Who is hiding behind the pumpkin?
If you don't know who is behind the pumpkin just skip to the next picture.

Who is hidden behind this pumpkin?

If you don't know the answer to this question but you know the answer to who is hidden behind the previous picture you can still win. You can leave one of these two pictures blank and still win. If you choose to answer them both and one of your answers are wrong, so long buckwheat to your gift card.

Who are the two people represented in this picture?

Whose hands are represented in this picture?
I apologize for the lack of clarity in this picture.
To isolate such a small protion of a picture always causes some loss of detail.
What is hidden behind the pumpkin in this picture?

Last Week
*The winner of the last quiz is Lindsey Raber*
Others submitting correct answers were Bill Grubbs and Daric Meyers
Lindsey just happened to be first . . . congratulations Lindsey
Your gift card is in the snail mail.

A Closer Look

Planet Grubbs Quiz of the week . . . who are the three people hidden from view ? You may have to work together but there is at least one family member who knows exactly who is in each picture. The first person to e-mail the correct answers to jerrygrubbs@gmail.com
will have the opportunity to cruise over to Walmart with a $10 gift card and spend those 1000 pennies any way you choose. Coach Vince Lombardi said that "winning isn't everything, it is the only thing." Well, this isn't football, it is family connecting with family without being tackled. Love jmg

Livin' The Good Old Life (Part Two)

Here is a second clue for those of you having trouble with the Planet Grubbs quiz for this week. I was guilty of giving additional help to some and not to others. This is my act of repentance. The woman in the picture is not Tammy Rasmussen and she is not Karen Young. Nor is she Jeanette, Levi's mother. Mother took care of Levi when he and Tiffany were young. The answers to the Planet Grubbs quiz are contained within the two pictures that have been published on Planet Grubbs. Answers should be submitted to jerrygrubbs@gmail.com.

Livin' The Good Old Life

Who are these two women? Where was this picture taken? What two things do these two women have in common that start with the same letter? The first set of correct answers e-mailed to me at jerrygrubbs@gmail.com will have the opportunity to walk down the isles of Walmart with their very own $10 gift card from the Planet Grubbs Fund (PGF). No, not PGA. This isn't a golf tournament. It is a get to know your family exercise. The word "golf" originally meant "Gentlemen Only, Ladies Forbidden". Ladies you are not forbidden to take a swing at the correct answers but there will be no golf cart provided. Note: the two things I am referring to have nothing to do with the fact that both these individuals are women. We aren't talking about body parts here. What is this all about? Encouraging you to visit Planet Grubbs.
